follow the line of grapes

Norman Rockwell

News
News is never new to me
for i have heard it all
and seen what can be seen

You say you have new news for me?
but thats impossible
because i know everything

Whats that you say?
he did what?
i promise to keep my mouth shut

Oh i must tell Ms.Lucy Yut

He did this and she did that...
i promise he did...
because i saw it!

Well hello Mr...
no need to yell
whats that you say?

He heard from him
and he heard from him
and he heard from her
ans she heard from him
and he heard from her
and she heard from her
and she heard from her
and she heard from her
and she heard from her
and she heard from her
and she heard from him
and he heard from her
and she heard from her
and she heard from me...

Thats impossible
i have never heard of such a thing!

I chose to take a lighter path in poetry for this blog post. I usually go with the dark and meaningful side of poetry but i chose to do it on something that has or will happen to every one of us, at least once in our lives.

A never ending mistake

A Daughter of Eve by Christina Rossetti
A fool I was to sleep at noon,
And wake when night is chilly
Beneath the comfortless cold moon
A fool to pluck my rose too soon,
A fool to snap my lily.

My garden-plot I have not kept;
Faded and all-forsaken,
I weep as I have never wept:
Oh it was summer when I slept,
It's winter now I waken.
Talk what you please of future spring
And sun-warm'd sweet to-morrow:—
Stripp'd bare of hope and everything,
No more to laugh, no more to sing,
I sit alone with sorrow.

Eve is a well known character from the bible. She i known for her mistake that led all future generations to lead a life of ups and downs. The mistake started with a simple apple taken from the wisdom tree where she wasn't allowed to eat from. She was punished for her actions be being cast out of her comforting home that supplied her with everything she needed, into a cold, new way of life. Christina Rossetti thinks her self to be a follower of Eve because she managed to make that one mistake that led her to the life she lives now.

"And sun-warm'd sweet to-morrow:—Stripp'd bare of hope and everything,"This line made me think about many things at once. The loss of something so common and familiar was one thought that stood out to me. We think of money as a common everyday item that seems almost endless (as teens) because it comes out of out parents pockets. But soon enough, that money we thought existed wont and we will be sent out to fend for our selves. We will feel "Stripp'd bare of hope and everything". No this isn't the result of a mistake but later in our lives when we get on track with everything, then we will do something that will force us to follow the devastating steps that eve, and so many others, once took. One small event in our lives can throw everything off track. A strange step causes you to fall and brake your leg which results in you being late for work and in the end, you get fired. It happens to people and it may happen in your future.

Life can be a jerk and if we try to avoid it, then we are making matters worse. We have to work around it and know when to jump out of the way for a split second and get back on the complicated tracks of life. Even if it's tough, we can pull through. Over all, what I'm trying to say is that we have to be prepared for what ever life gives us and if we spend to much time feeling sorry for our selves, we will never be the same and we will lose our way to becoming the great successful person we once though we were. Good luck on life and remember that there will always be another beginning after each and every end.

the amazement of an undeveloped mind

After finishing our huge picture book project and reading them to younger kids, i read The Tales of Beedle the Bard. I realized that a young mind means endless possibilities and the right to deny the world for what it is. When we were younger, our beds were the islands floating on water and we would  have to make it to the door without touching the water, only to realize that we left our favorite toy, giving us one more reason to venture back to save it. kind of like those weird disinfecting commercials for bathroom cleaner. Anything was possible and no didn't exist.

The young fifth graders we read to were just about to end their journey of a life time and be engulfed with the problems that they shouldn't have to deal with. picture books, cartoons, and movies used to be the beginning of a new adventure that brought us to Hogwarts and let us swim with mermaids and put us in control of the universe. I miss those gullible minds of ours and the old adventures with our real and imaginary friends.

With nothing to worry about, we had the time to think of a solution to global warming where Casper the friendly ghost would fly up to the sun and help it cool down. Ah the good old days, when we took nap time for granted and snack time was a daily thing that we just went along with. When every one was popular and our problems were as small as what we had packed for lunch and if anybody would trade for a fruit roll up.

Life is to complected and if anyone of us were in our right minds, we would live off the grid and raise our farms with every animal we need to keep our lives healthy and nutritious. We would have nap time every day and our beds would still be islands...

What can i say, we live to dream!
